In this article I am going to share with you the results of my participation (I had to send a sample of my DNA) of The Genographic Project, launched in April 2005, a five-year genetic anthropology study that aims to map historical human migration patterns by collecting and analyzing DNA samples from hundreds of thousands of people from around the world.

First of all, I want to thank you for a positive and constructive
exchange of ideas and discussion. Such is indispensible to the work
before us now. I find my work with you, and the others involved, to
have been both enlightening and encouraging.

I want to emphasize my sincere desire and intention of participating
in the plan you have presented at all possible levels. I shall be
submitting my maximum inputs wherever deemed most helpful. So, we are
not discussing whether or not I will be with the plan. I am with it.
But, I am trying to help you to improve it.

I've always wondered what my name means, or associates, in other languages. Does it mean anything in Somali? Does it sound good? At least neutral? I hope it doesn't mean anything really bad. (:-)

If it didn't sound good, I could always resort to my second name, Georg, or George to make it more palatable for English speakers.

What would be the best name for this web site? We should not change it too often, because that upsets the web site statistics, but we could change it now. Proposals:

My knowledge of the current situation of the two countries Somalia and Somaliland is limited. As you can see, I've put a little Somaliland flag into the Somalia flag at the top.

Is this good? I hope it doesn't offend too many people, but how could I choose just one?
